Thanks to everyone who joined us in the park on Saturday evening to sing Christmas carols. It was the first time we had done this, but we plan to make it an annual event. The weather was not too kind, but over 100 brave souls turned out.
Particular thanks to Bryan George for providing the music and leading the singing. Also, to the friends of the park for putting up Christmas decorations and gazebos, giving out song sheets and hot chocolate, and stoking the fire. Thanks to Jeff from the Llandudno Photographic Society for taking the photos.
Finally, a very big thank you to Santa for popping in.
A couple of weeks ago a notice was posted near the junction of Queens Road and Roumania Drive regarding plans to restrict parking. The picture above has been received from Conwy County Borough Council illustrating the plans. The light blue lines show existing double yellow lines and the red shows the plans for the new ones.
The stated objective of the plan is to improve visibility at the junction and to make it easier for buses leaving the bus stop on Queens Road. They should “find it easier to move off and also if a bus is stopped in the bus stop on the opposite side of the road vehicles can pass with less risk of coming into conflict with an oncoming vehicle.”
In a society reliant on cars there is clearly a balance to strike between maximising safety and providing space for parking.
