Back in October last year we received 500 Crocus Bulbs from the The Royal Horticultural Society as part of Wild About Gardens Week. Pupils from Ysgol Craig y Don helped us plant them in the park. It is great to see them coming up and adding so much colour.
Also, it is so good to see daffodils all around the park. Many of these have been given to the park as part of Llandudno Daffodil Capital or Wales
You may have noticed the Monday morning gardening group have been very busy in the hedges, especially along Park Lane. A lot of effort has gone into clearing debris from under the hedge. By removing the dead leaves, pine needles and litter, the hedge plants have a much better chance of growing. Before and after photos below
Also, you will have noticed that the Friends of the Park have erected fencing to protect the hedge whilst it grows. This has cost us about £300 and taken several days to erect. We feel the hedge is an essential feature of the park, both aesthetically and environmentally.
