24 June 2012

The Llandudno Sea Triathlon took place on Saturday 23rd June.  The competitors had a choice of the full or shorter ‘sprint’ courses, which involved:

  • Swimming from the Lifeboat slipway – either 1500m or 750m
  • Cycling around the Great Orme – four time (36 km) or two times (19km)
  • Running along the promenade towards, over the Little Orme to Penrhyn Bay and back – 10km or 5km

This is now an annual event and considered to be one of the best in the UK, having been voted ‘Race of the year’ in 2010.  It was great to see so many competitors and so many spectators. Even if you are not interested in Triathlons or these types of endurance sports, seeing what other people do for fun and fitness can be quite inspiring.
